BIO
Brice C. Jones is a Ph.D. Candidate in Religion and part-time lecturer at Concordia University, Montréal. He holds a Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.) with a concentration in New Testament Studies from Yale University. His doctoral research analyzes various citations of the New Testament within Greek amulets from late antiquity that have hitherto been ignored within New Testament textual research. While the study is targeted at textual critics and papyrologists, it contributes to a conversation about early Christianity that is much larger than the project, as these texts demonstrate the various ways in which early Christians used scripture (e.g., as apotropaic devices). He is the author of Matthean and Lukan Special Material: A Brief Introduction with Texts in Greek and English (Wipf and Stock, 2011). His research on ancient Greek and Coptic manuscripts has been published in major scholarly journals, such as Zeitschrift für Papyrologie und Epigraphik, Bulletin of the American Society of Papyrologists, Archiv für Papyrusforschung, Journal of Coptic Studies, Journal of Biblical Literature, Novum Testamentum, and New Testament Studies. He has been featured in various media outlets, including the The Telegraph, CNN, Live Science, and The Daily Beast.
